Child not secured in speeding car


On March 18, 2016, members from the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on regular patrol duties on Causley Street in the Town of Blind River.

At 12:13 p.m., police observed an eastbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed on Causley Street. A traffic stop was initiated. As a result of the investigation, it was determined there was a child in the vehicle that wasn’t secured.

Ali, Nasser, ALJURAYBAH, 24 years of age, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, was charged and issued two provincial offence notices for:

  • Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic Act; and
  • Drive While Child Passenger not Properly Secured, contrary to section 106(4)(b) of the Highway Traffic Act.
