The annual Easter Seals Telethon is on its way!
“We’re all excited to be involved in the Rotary Easter Seals Telethon on Sunday April 3, beginning at 12 noon on Shaw TV channel 10,” said Telethon co-host Jeff McNeice. “I know from past Telethons that our viewers here in the Sault always shine through with incredible support. Together, we can change lives and help kids BE KIDS!”
Some of this year’s Telethon hosts, including Shannon Gowans, have benefitted directly from Easter Seals. “Easter Seals kids require specialized equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers and communication devices to live life to the fullest,” said Gowans. “Your assistance is crucial as these can cost thousands of dollars. I would not be the independent adult I am today without the support that Easter Seals provided to my family when I was growing up.”
Each of the Telethon’s nine segments has their own unique prize draws for donors who call during that segment, including sports jerseys, Station Mall gift cards, and more. The complete list is available at http://rotarysault.com/easter-seals/easter-seals-telethon/.
Callers who pledge between $35 and $99 and over $100 will be entered into a draw to win additional prizes.
According to McNeice, “This year, the annual event is giving you more reasons to call in with your generous donation!”

“The generosity that our community has provided telethon year after year is tremendous,” said Lori Amendola, Telethon Co-Chair, “To have the ability to thank our donors with our segment prizes and our signed jersey draws for donors who pledge $100 or more is really exciting for us!”
This year’s telethon will have great prizes and engaging content, but every Telethon volunteer, host, panelist, sponsor, and committee member knows that it’s really all about the kids!
“If for nothing else, just for the hopes and dreams of a child, and them discovering their own abilities, I strongly encourage you to give to Easter Seals,” said Lou Spadafora, past Easter Seals recipient and Acting Principal at St. Pius X, during the telling of his story that will be played as part of the Telethon.
You can support Easter Seals and help children with physical disabilities achieve independence, freedom, and a sense of accomplishment by calling in your pledge to 705-254-KIDS(5437) on April 3 from 12 noon to 7 p.m. or by visiting http://eastersealstelethon.org/ssm/ and making a donation today.
