Passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016 at Sault Area Hospital.
Bob loved nothing more than his children, Conor (Kim), Caitlin, Cydney, and Cameron, and took tremendous pride in their accomplishments. His ex-wife, Sandra Hodge, mother, Elizabeth (late Bob Sr.), sister, Vicki Pierman (John), and nephew JR Pierman, grieve his loss.
Bob was a popular English and history teacher at Alexander Henry and Korah high schools, where he influenced many students and athletes as a hockey coach for 30 years. He followed his passion for writing in retirement, working as a freelance journalist in Sault Ste. Marie. Bob was an intellectual and passionate man who would give the world to his family, friends, students and team.
In lieu of flowers, the family will accept donations to the Bob Mihell Memorial Scholarship Fund, which will award a graduating Korah C&VS student gifted in writing and athletics.
Friends are invited to celebrate Bob’s life at Arthur Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Friday, April 1, 2016 from 6 to 9 pm. Cremation and a private family service have already occurred.
