Sault Area Hospital (SAH) is pleased to celebrate its 5th Anniversary at the Great Northern Road location. The current facility officially opened its doors on March 6, 2011. The theme of this week’s celebration is 5 Years: Dreams Do Come True.

The community is invited to attend an Open House/Tour Event on Thursday, March 10 from 5-8 pm in the SAH lobby. The open house is a come and go event with SAH officials and local dignitaries to open the event with remarks beginning at 5:15 pm. Attendees can choose from a number of guided tours in areas including Laundry, Sterile Processing Distribution, Pharmacy, Renal, Intensive Care Unit, Maternal/Child, Algoma District Cancer Program, Laboratory, Surgical Operating Room and Diagnostic Imaging. Parking gates will remain open during this time.

“Five years ago, we opened our doors to our new hospital and welcomed our first patients,” says Ron Gagnon, President & CEO. “It was a day that marked not just the opening of a building but the culmination of a dream and the beginning of a new chapter in the history of SAH,” he adds. “We wish to take this opportunity to thank our community for their ongoing generosity and support of Sault Area Hospital.”

“We are grateful for this incredible building, but it is the staff, physicians and volunteers who make the difference in the lives of those who walk through our doors every day,” says Gregory Peres, SAH Board Chair. “On behalf of the Board, we wish to congratulate everyone at SAH for making a positive difference in just 5 short years,” he states. “The successes to date are numerous and we look forward to many more in the future.”

Thank you to the generous sponsors of the 5th Anniversary celebration events – Comeault Private Wealth Advisory Group I RBC Wealth Management, Miller Thomson and Carillion.

Mark your calendars and come join SAH in this community celebration!

  1. 5 years of being chintzy, understaffed, not enough beds available.
More of the same smallmindedness to come no doubt.
