The Algoma District Myeloma Canada Patient Support Network (ADMCPSN) and the Sault Area Hospital Volunteer Association (SAHVA) will be hosting a unique healing opportunity for Sault Ste. Marie and area residents affected by cancer on April 8th and 9th, 2016.

These two non-profit organizations are bringing Dr. Rob Rutledge, Radiation Oncologist from Halifax, Nova Scotia to Sault Ste. Marie.

Dr. Rutledge specializes in breast, prostate and pediatric cancers. He is an Associate
Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Dalhousie University, and founder of the
Healing and Cancer Foundation (a registered Canadian charity). Information on his
work is available at www.HealingandCancer.org.

Dr. Rutledge will be providing a free public talk on Friday, April 8th, 2016 from 7-9 pm
entitled “The body-mind-spirit connection: Making a difference on the cancer
journey” which empowers people with an integrated and practical approach to
cancer.

He will also be offering a free Skills for Healing Cancer Day-Long Seminar for people
affected by cancer on Saturday, April 9th, 2016 from 9 am – 4 pm. Those attending
will leave better equipped with a practical and integrated approach to their cancer
journey – helping them to heal their body, mind and spirit. Both events are being held
at the Days Inn & Suites, 332 Bay Street in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Those wishing to attend the Day-Long Seminar on April 9th will need to register by
contacting Jill Lang Ward [705-946-2960, [email protected]

The goal of the ADMCPSN and the SAHVA is to be able to offer this event at no cost, to
anyone affected by cancer. To achieve this objective funds are being raised to cover
all costs associated with bringing Dr. Rutledge to Sault Ste. Marie as well the costs for
the two presentations.

To aid in this fundraising initiative, The Spa at Sault College has graciously provided
their support by offering for purchase a $20 Spa Gift Certificate. The certificate
entitles men and women to a $20 manicure or $20 towards any of the other numerous
spa services offered by The Spa. You may purchase your Sault College, The Spa Gift
