Two nabbed for theft


On March 2nd at approximately 4pm City Police attended to Food Basics on Pine St. regarding a male shoplifter. Further investigation revealed the accused allegedly left the store without paying for some personal items and was also wanted on an outstanding warrant for failing to appear court. 19 year old Kenneth Hunt of Digby Cr. was subsequently charged with theft under $5000 and failing to attend court and will be appearing in Provincial Court April 4th.
On March 2nd, 2 males were observed by Walmart security officers allegedly conceal several packages of men’s razor blades and leave the store without paying. Security officers approached the males who in turn fled the area but were eventually apprehended. Upon Police arrival it was learned these males were from Lithuania and also in possession of a rental car from Toronto. As a result, the 2 males have been charged with theft and possession of stolen property under $5000. The investigation is continuing and further charges are pending at the time of this report. The 2 accused will be appearing in Bail Court on March 3rd.
