Cocaine trafficking ring busted in Blind River / Elliot Lake

On March 24, 2016 officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau (OCEB), Sudbury Unit, concluded a three month investigation into cocaine trafficking that was occurring in the communities of Blind River and Elliot Lake.

Over the course of the investigation two vehicle stops and three search warrants were executed which resulted in the combined seizure of 282 grams of cocaine, 9 pounds of marihuana, 120 oxycodone pills and $64,000 cash. The street value of the drugs seized is estimated to be $112,000.

The investigation was conducted with the assistance from the OPP Provincial Operations Intelligence Bureau (POIB), East Algoma OPP Detachment, and the Timmins Police Service. As a result of the investigation the following persons have been charged:

Dany BOUILLON, age 49, and Donna MAY, age 51, both of Blind River

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking (x2), Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Contrary to Section 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Contrary to Section 354 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

Darren GERRARD, age 48 of Blind River

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking, Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance (x3), Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Richard REGIS, age 51 of Elliot Lake

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking, Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Contrary to Section 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, Contrary to Section 354 (1) (a) of the Criminal Code of Canada

David HELMER, age 45 of Timmins

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking (x3), Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Christina CHESTER, age 36 of Timmins

  • Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking (x2), Contrary to Section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act
