After defeating the Sarnia Sting 3-2 in double overtime back on Thursday night at the Essar Centre and taking a 3-1 series lead, the Soo Greyhounds were hoping to wrap things up on Saturday night in Sarnia for game five of the Western Conference quarterfinals.
The Hounds fell to the Sting 5-1 on Saturday night at the Sarnia Sports and Entertainment Centre, but still lead the series 3-2 heading back home on Sunday.
Gustav Bouramman (power play) had the Hounds only goal of the game with assists going to Blake Speers and Zach Senyshyn.
Overage forward Matt Mistele had a goal and an assist for the Sting while captain Sam Studnicka had a shorthanded goal and a helper of his own. Pavel Zacha (power play), Troy Lajuenesse and Ryan McGregor had the other goals for the Sting. Jordan Kyrou had a multi point night with a pair off helpers while single assists went to Jakob Chychrun, Brandon Lindberg, Patrick White and Nikita Korostolev.
Charlie Graham made twenty seven stops for the Sting’s win while Brandon Halverson gave up five goals on thirty four shots.
Hounds will still look to wrap up the series as game six goes Sunday night at 7:07 p.m. from the Essar Centre.
