On April 17, 2016 at 9:15pm Police and EMS attended at a motor vehicle collision on Wellington Street East near Simpson Street.
Investigation revealed that an E-bike was being operated eastbound on Wellington Street East when the driver lost control of the E-bike causing the bike to crash and the driver to be thrown from the E-bike landing on the roadway. A vehicle that was following the E-bike struck the driver as he lay in the roadway.
The driver was taken to hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Officer determined that the E-bike driver’s ability to operate the vehicle was impaired and he was given a breath demand. Results of the breath test allege that the driver’s blood alcohol was more than four times the legal limit.
37 year old Cory Gostlin of Princess Cr. has been charged with operating a motor vehicle with over 80mg of alcohol in his blood. The accused will appear in court on May 30th.
