Local Beer Festival is sold out

If you are looking to get into the Festival of Beer in the Sault, it’s sold out.

“7-8-900 people have come through,” said Edie Suriano, marketing and promotions coordinator for the Bushplane Museum, where the event is being held ’til 7 p.m. tonight.

Stephanie Poitras of the Manitoulin Brewing Co. was on hand to chat. As well was owner, Blair Hagman, who had quite a line up at around 3 p.m.

“It’s quite a venue,” Hagman said commenting on being in the Bushplane Museum for the first time as a vendor.

Their table saw at least a couple hundred customers by 3 p.m.

Their choice ale: Swingbridge Blond.

The first beer launched last June for the company.

They are currently working to get the beer in Sault Ste. Marie as it is already in 26 bars and restaurants in Sudbury and Manitoulin.

There was lots of smiles and pats on the back coming in and out of the festival.

“See.. I’m proud to host this,” said Suriano. “It’s a great day for it!”

  1. Worth every penny!

Where else can you sample so many different flavors? There was only 1 I wasn’t fond of, so two ounces was a great size to sample.

I wonder if we will get last year’s glasses like we did this year (at least I did at around 1:30)? That’s the only negative I could come up with, and it is pretty lame 🙂

Great event! I am already looking forward to next year.

  2. On attendance, event organizer says, “Well that was an amazing day. Just over a thousand people through the doors today – so many happy faces. Thanks for supporting our events… We will continue to create more.”
