Our hospital services have been seriously cut.
Sault Ste. Marie’s hospital has faced severe cuts to front-line staff and services in recent years. Patients have been left on stretchers in hallways. Often up to 22 admitted patients have waited in emergency rooms for beds, some for as long as 5 days. 59,000 hours per year of nursing and direct patient care have been cut. Departments across the hospital have seen cuts including operating rooms, intensive care, oncology, surgery, hemodialysis, infection control, patient care coordination, nursing personal support, bone health, and pediatric psychosocial support due to a lack of funding.
We can stop the cuts!
In many communities we have successfully stopped hospital cuts.
