Union Gas helps support flight-themed educational programs courtesy of a $2,000 grant awarded to the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre (CBHC).
“At Union Gas we believe that investing in the future of our youth is an investment worth making,” said Don Van Daele, utility services manager, Union Gas. “We’re proud to continue our support of the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre, which is helping spark student’s imagination and interest in science, technology, engineering and math.”
The CBHC is committed to offering quality education to local and regional schools in the classroom and at its public museum. The museum is unique in that it is 100 per cent interactive, with a strong focus on science – specifically the science of flight. Between 2,500 and 3,000 students from Kindergarten to grade 8, participate in the CBHC’s presentations every year. Many of the volunteers who lead school tours are retired teachers.
“This generous donation from Union Gas helps to strengthen our collaborative partnership. The bushplane centre appreciates the ongoing support of Union Gas to assist us to educate children about our natural environment” stated Mike Delfre, Executive Director of the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre.
