The United Way has achieved its revised goal for the annual campaign fundraising drive, the agency announced Friday.
“We are excited to announce that, thanks to your donations we exceeded our revised goal and raised a grand total of $1,160,848. This includes a match of $61,867 in new donations from January 1st to March 31st and an additional donation of $88,133 from an anonymous donor” , stated a release issued Friday.The original target was set at $1.2 million.
The grand total includes $150,000 in donations targeted for specific programs the agency said.
“It’s amazing to see the strength of our city and what we can accomplish in a time of need. We are so fortunate to have the support of businesses and individual donors.” said Jamie Caicco, Campaign Chairperson of the 2016 United Way fundraiser.
The United Way Campaign Cabinet set a goal to raise funds to support 12,000 people in the community back in September of 2015.
