What the OPP found in Thessalon

On April 8, 2016, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was on regular patrol duties in the Town of Thessalon.

At 3:10 a.m., police observed a vehicle on Highway 17 and initiated a traffic stop. As a result of the investigation, officers located two baggies containing less than 30 grams of cannabis marihuana each. The two males were arrested.

The driver, Samuel GRENIER, 22 years age, from Saint-Georges, Quebec was charged with:

  • Adult Possess Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana Under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Criminal Code.

The passenger, Philippe LECLERC, 22 years age, from Saint-Georges, Quebec was charged with:

  • Adult Possess Schedule II Substance – Cannabis Marihuana Under 30 grams, contrary to section 4(1) of the Criminal Code.

Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Blind River on June 9, 2016.
