And “bam!” it’s winter again. A series of disturbances will continue to leave us in winter mode for another five days or so. Environment Canada and other sources forecast 15 cm by the time this system moves out late Thursday morning.
The temperatures will struggle to be above freezing until early next week, meaning most of this new snow will stick around until late next week.
This afternoon, the snow will begin to mix with rain, which may cut our total accumulation, but more snow is forecast over the weekend and into next week. About another 7cm, added with what’s falling today and we’re in for 20cm.
The good news starts again next weekend when temperatures rebound and the sky clears for some warm April sun.
This same system has put areas east of the Sault in a full blown winter storm warning. Areas like Elliot Lake through to North Bay could see as much as 30cm by Thursday night.
