Celebrating young professionals in the Sault

Calling all local young professionals:  We’re celebrating you this Friday!  Join Strive Young Professionals Group for Strive @ 5 at Loplops on Friday May 20th at 5pm.  All are welcome; this is a great way to meet our local young professionals, learn more about Strive and participate in a community building event for Young Professionals Week!

May 15 – May 21, 2016 marks this year’s Young Professionals Week in Ontario.  The Young Professionals Network of Ontario (YPNO) describes the week as a unique platform to engage under 40s in meaningful conversation and action surrounding the economic, social, and cultural wellbeing of our communities!  Young Professionals Week will encourage local young professionals to create and identify opportunity for professional and community development. It will also educate employers on the importance of retaining young professionals and the crucial role they play in the province’s workforce.

Strive Young Professionals Group kicked off 2016 with a series of events including Strive Social at Outspoken, Local Leader Series with Tom Vair at Art Gallery Algoma sponsored by Quattro, and Curling FunSpiel planned in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce at the Community First Curling Centre.

Strive will also be hosting Your Personal Brand at Quattro on May 26, 2016.  Your Personal Brand is a professional development workshop geared to help young professionals excel in their careers and clearly define what they bring to the table.  A light meal will be provided. $5 for Members; $7 for Non-Members.  All are welcome!

About Strive Young Professionals Group

Strive was developed in 2012 by the Sault Ste. Marie Chamber of Commerce to fill a representation gap for individuals between the age of 19 to 40. This subcommittee of the Sault’s Chamber of Commerce has an elected executive which is rotated annually based on its active membership’s votes. The elected executive of Strive works with other groups, individuals, and businesses inside of the community to provide networking events, learning development opportunities, and community involvement initiatives.
