Lots lined up to Cruise Queen again

Get your cars, trucks, customs and hot rods ready, because the Queen Street Cruise Committee and its partners are proud to release the schedule of events for the inaugural Queen Street Cruise taking place June 17th and 18th, 2016.

The Cruise is kicking off Friday afternoon with Highland Ford’s 6th Annual Great Northern Roundup & Test Drive event on Friday, June 17th. Registration begins at 5:30 and the show runs from 6-8pm. Grab bag for the first 100 paid registrants. $25 night of, $15 in advance. M&M’s will be on location as well hosting a BBQ, which is included for all paid show participants. Lots of prize money up for grabs at the Great Northern Roundup for Best Bike, Best of Show and an entry into a $1,000 draw. Flathead Ford will be providing live entertainment. Drive 4UR Troops event to support the Military Family Fund. With every test drive that takes place that evening, Ford will donate to the Military Family Fund. While the Great Northern Roundup is happening at Highland Ford, the Cruise atmosphere will already be underway with local band Five Below Zero playing at the March Street Stage from 5:30-10pm. Local businesses are encouraged to run throwback specials to help set the mood for the Cruise event.

Following the Great Northern Roundup, bikes staged at Highland Ford will leave at 7:30 and parade themselves down to Queen Street in front of Reggie’s Tavern to kick off the Reggie’s Show n’ Shine from 7:30-10pm. Registration for Reggie’s Motorcycle Show n’ Shine is by a donation of $20 to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Cash prizes available.

At 8pm, cars, trucks, customs and hot rods will be leaving Highland Ford for the 1st Annual Queen Street Cruise. Vehicles will participate in a police escorted Cruise to downtown Sault Ste. Marie. Cars are welcome to stage at the Essar Centre parking lot. Vehicles are encouraged to Cruise up and down Queen Street throughout the evening. Live entertainment will be provided at the Essar Centre on the OLG Stage. This is meant to be a social event where friends come together and reminisce days gone by. There is no set time frame for how long you have to stay at this event. Feel free to hang out and have fun.

There will be overnight security located at Highland Ford and the Essar Centre to control parking, direct traffic, provide pylons and watch any vehicles or trailers that are left at the Essar Centre overnight the 17th. They will patrol until 10am Saturday.

On Saturday, June 18th, registration for the Heart & Stroke Walk and Roll begins at 10am. Car show begins at 11am in the Essar Centre parking lot and will run until 3pm. Cost of registration is a $20 donation to the Heart & Stroke Foundation. Many prizes available to be won. Live entertainment throughout the afternoon.

At the conclusion of the show, there will be a drawing for the Grand Prize of two round-trip tickets to Toronto thanks to Porter Airlines, as well as two nights accommodation in Toronto from North Star Travel and Tours. For each show that a car or bike registers in, they will receive one ballot into the drawing.
