On the 6th of May 2016, just after 2 am, City Police while on routine patrol, heard screaming in the downtown area. Officers attended and located two males fighting.
Officers noted blood and an ambulance was called. Officers learn that an adult male had been cut during the fight. The victim required medical treatment for non-life threatening injuries. Both the victim and the accused are known to each other.
During the course of the investigation officers learned that the accused forced his way into the victim’s residence along with two other males. It is alleged that the accused assaulted the accused with a knife. Information was also received that the accused had possession of a firearm. The investigation is ongoing. Officers from Investigation Services are continuing to work on this investigation and no further details will be released at this time.
As a result of the investigation, 33-year old Luc DALE of Wellington Street West was arrested and charged with one count of Break and Enter, one count of Assault with a Weapon, one count of Possession of a Prohibited Weapon and one count of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition. He appeared in Bail Court on May 6th.
