12 Year old charged


On June 22, 2016, shortly after 5:00 p.m., members of the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to complaint that had occurred at a local beach in the City of Elliot Lake.

The victim, a 10 year old male attended a local beach and several kids began to gang up by pushing, shoving and chasing him. The incident escalated to the point where a stick was thrown at the victim and he received a laceration to the right side of his head. The victim attended the local hospital and received stitches for his injuries.

A 12 year old male, who cannot be named under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, from Elliot Lake, Ontario, was arrested and charged with: Assault with a weapon, contrary to section 267(a) of the Criminal Code (CC).

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Elliot Lake on


  1. This will make one twelve-year-old boy an idle to the other kids in Elliot Lake, not because of what he did. Rather for getting off scot free.
