Former T-Bird lands job in Espanola

What a difference a year can make in hockey!

He had just completed his final year of Junior A with the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Espanola Express, and now he is ready to take on a new role beginning next season.

Sudbury, Ontario native Shane Snow has been named the new associate coach of the Espanola Express for the 2016-2017 season.

The former defenceman played with six different teams throughout his junior hockey career from 2011-2016, including the Blind River Beavers, Kemptville 73s, Soo Thunderbirds, Markstay-Warren Spirit, St. Charles North Stars and Espanola Express.

Snow, who spent one season with the Soo Thunderbirds during 2013-2014, had 0 goals and 8 assists through 32 games and was coached under head coach Jordan Smith and assistant coaches Ryan Maunu and Marty Fortino.

The 20 year old will join head coach Tom McCarthy and assistant coach Jason Rapcewicz, who both coached him as a player this past season in Espanola.
