Four-year-old boy found dead in Nova Scotia

MIDDLE MUSQUODOBOIT, N.S. – The RCMP say a four-year-old boy was found dead in a swimming pool in rural Nova Scotia, hours after he was reported missing.

RCMP Sgt. Craig Smith says Nicholas Baker was reported missing from his grandparents’ home near Middle Musquodoboit, about 80 kilometres northwest of Halifax, shortly before 10 p.m. Wednesday.

He says officers and a ground search and rescue crew scoured the area for the boy.

Cpl. Jadie Spence says Baker’s body was found in the pool on his grandparents’ property at around 2 a.m. Thursday.

Investigators say his death is not considered suspicious.
