Raaymakers invited to Canada’s program of excellence goaltending camp


On Wednesday, Hockey Canada’s National men’s team program has announced that a total of 34 goaltenders have been invited to attend their annual Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp.

Among those 34 invited is Soo Greyhounds goaltender Joseph Raaymakers.

Raaymakers, who is rated 9th amongst North American goalies on the National Hockey League’s Central Scouting Final Rankings List for the upcoming draft in June, served as a backup to Hounds alumni goaltender Brandon Halverson through his first two seasons in the Ontario Hockey League (2014-2016).

Through 53 career games, the Chatham, Ontario native has 27 wins, 17 losses, 3 overtime losses, 1 shootout loss and 2 shutouts.

This camp takes in the top goaltenders across the country that will learn from the top Canadian instructors and will take place from June 9th-12th at the Markin MacPhail Centre in Calgary, Alberta.

Matt had graduated from Sault College in the General Arts and Sciences program in 2011 and has been working in the sports field ever since. The Sault Ste.
