This past Saturday, Soo Mill hosted a charity BBQ to benefit the Sault Blues Society. SBS executive were on hand flipping burgers and dogs to a live performance by the Swamp Cats. The Sault Blues Society is a non-profit group of fans and musicians who work hard at keeping the sounds of Blues happening in and around our Naturally Gifted area.
You won’t want to miss the upcoming Sounds of Summer 2016 BluesFest being held at the Canadian on Saturday, June 18th. The Festival will be host to at least 3 bands including our own Korah high school band Mustang Sally, Maple Blues and Juno Award winning Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne as the headliner; plus numerous other surprise performances.
Mustang Sally has dedicated this entire school year to the Blues and they have passed in flying colours!, composing several original blues tunes. They have an amazing opening set prepared for all that attend.
This ALL AGES event will take place at the Canadian Motor Hotel on Pim Street .
The opening band is the Pinetones from White Pines Collegiate at 7 pm.
The second act is Mustang Sally from Korah Collegiate at 8 pm.
The house band is The Blueshop ( Mike Yurich (guitar), Bob Yeomans (drums), Lindsay Pugh (bass)and Josh Norling (sax) will take the stage at 9pm.
The headliner Maple Blues award and Juno award winner Kenny “Blues Boss” Wayne will be tickling the keyboard at 10 pm and 11 pm.

The ticket prices for the 2016 Bluesfest are $20.00 advance and for SBS members, $25.00 at the door and $15.00 for students (18 years and under)
