A solid turn-out of folks who appreciate homemade shortcake, topped with fresh strawberries, ice cream and whipped cream couldn’t agree more. The strawberries were positively bursting with flavour.
Dora and Ken Hocken made it out to the Strawberry Social. Ken is a member of Branch 25, Royal Canadian Legion and was recently honoured (2014) with the rank of Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour. He was part of the Allied Forces who liberated France during the Second World War. Hocken was a member of Sherbrooke Fusilier Regiment, Canadian 2nd Armoured Division.
The Ladies Auxiliary is 112 members strong. They will be hosting a Pasta Dinner Fundraiser on Wednesday, June 15th, 2016. 5-7 pm. This all-you-can-eat dinner includes salad, bread, meatballs and pasta. There is take-out available, and it is a very good deal at $10.00. ($5.00 for children 5-10 yrs.)
One of the most incredible deals for foodies is the Pasta luncheon which takes place prior to BINGO on June 16th. For $4.00, a full Pasta meal is available from 11:30 – 1 pm. Half orders are $3.00. Take-Out is very popular for this luncheon. Seriously. $4.00 for a full pasta luncheon!
