On June 10, 2016 at 1:06 p.m., the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to traffic complaint of an eastbound vehicle travelling at high rates of speed and passing unsafely on Highway 17.
At 1:25 p.m., police observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and matched the description provided by the complainant. A traffic stop was initiated. Investigation determined the driver’s licence was expired.
Stephanie BINGHAM, 40 years of age, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, was issued two provincial offence notices and charged with:
Speeding, contrary to section 128 of the Highway Traffic; and
Drive Motor Vehicle-No Licence, contrary to section 32(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
At 2:02 p.m., police observed the same vehicle on Highway 17, east of the Town of Thessalon, travelling at a high rate speed and passing other motor vehicles. Another traffic stop was initiated. Stephanie BINGHAM was issued another provincial offence notice and charged with: Drive Motor Vehicle-No Licence, contrary to section 32(1) of the Highway Traffic Act.
Arrangements were made to have a licenced driver attend the location and take control of the motor vehicle.
