On the 30th of June, 2016, Police attended the address located on Hudson Street, Sault Ste. Marie to speak to the owner of the building/establishment who was complaining that one of his male tenants had caused damage to his property. Police obtain information that the rugs in the hallway of the apartment building had been torn out, the ceiling tiles were torn down and the bathroom tiles were also broken and removed.
On the 5th of July, 2016, at approximately 8:00am a Fire Inspector called Sault Ste. Marie Police Service to advise that a fire was started and caused damage to one of the rooms at the same building/establishment. During the fire investigation of the apartment, a set of keys belonging to the owner of the building were located in that room.
As a result of an investigation conducted by the Sault Ste. Marie Crime Suppression Unit a Martin Vine, age 36 of Hudson Street has been charged with 4 counts of Mischief under $5000, Possession of Property obtained by crime, Arson and one count of Breach of Probation.
Martin Vine will appear in bail court on these charges today, the 6th July 2016.
