The events of the past week have left me shocked and appalled. What have we become people? Where has our sense of decency gone? Shots fired in hatred, are still shots fired in hatred, no matter who pulls the trigger. This isn’t about Trump and Hillary, or about Republican and Democrat, hardly, it goes all the way down to morals. All sides are failing, who is setting the example for the children, students, the young and impressionable minds?
You fight over the right to carry guns, yet no mention of the hatred behind the killer. This isn’t going to correct itself, the answers and solutions aren’t hidden from you. We know how to fix racial hatred, and all hatred, we need to just be brave enough to put that knowledge to work.
Sault Ste. Marie is very blessed, we want what is best for our family and our city. We should all be proud of the way this city is, we stop for funerals, and we help those of us that are in need. These are the very answers to the problems facing our southern neighbour. They have forgotten what we hold dear, “WE ARE ONE”. When Fort McMurray was on fire, this country came together in ways that must have bewildered other countries. We showed the country, and the world what it means to be, ONE NATION. I would challenge everyone, to hold that part of our Canadian heritage dear, it has become rare in other parts of the world.
This is also a time for a call to humanity for the United States of America, a leader is needed, someone brave enough to go the right path. There is a lot of work to be done, strength is needed, but the right person needs to be holding the moral compass. ALL LIVES MATTER, let’s not lose sight of that, above all else.
