After being released following his first full season as head coach of the Ottawa Senators and missing the playoffs, Dave Cameron has been hired by a new club.
The 57 year old has been hired as an assistant coach of the Calgary Flames.
Cameron, known to be a strict and vocal bench boss, spent two seasons as head coach and general manager with the Soo Greyhounds from 1997-1999.
During his time with the Hounds, the Charlottetown, PE native coached a couple former NHLers including Richard Jackman and the late Josef Vasicek.
The Calgary Flames will mark the second NHL team that Dave Cameron will be with, as he joins assistant coaches Paul Jerrard and Martin Gelinas, along with head coach Glen Gulutzan.
