Drugs and alcohol


On July 23, 2016 police were called to the Algoma Treatment and Remand Center after a 49 year old male who had been remanded to the jail was found to have concealed a large quantity of narcotics within his body. Staff at the institution found the accused in possession of 501 oxycodone pills, 5 Diazepam pill, 14 morphine capsules and 0.6 grams of heroin. Officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit attended at the institution and the accused has been charged with six counts of possession of a controlled drug for the purpose of trafficking. The accused is scheduled to appear in bail court on August 15th.

On July 23, 2016 at 11pm officers stopped a vehicle after receiving complaints of an erratic driver. Further investigation found that the accused 34 year old Jason Lamble of Dacey Road was operating the vehicle while under the influence of alcohol. The accused was arrested and a search of the accused found him to be in possession of 60 grams of marihuana. The accused has been charged with driving a motor vehicle with more than 80 mgs of alcohol in blood and possession of a controlled substance. The accused will appear in court on August 29th.


  1. Since when did they stop releasing the names of already convicted criminals when they get caught with drugs?
    What point is there in releasing reports without them, it’s like having cereal with no milk.
