A brief but moving candlelight vigil was held tonight in Bellevue Park under the shelter.
It was part of Sault Pridefest 2016 but was not held to help and mourn just the gay community. It was held to offer condolences to anyone suffering from HIV and AIDS and those that have passed on from it.
It was a first for Pridefest this year as they have extended their festival to more than double last year.
People from the community and visitors shared some touching stories of what they have and still see in the battle with HIV and AIDS.
A Chinese lantern and lotus flow were let go in memory of the people for whom the event was held for.
