Hounds exhibition games

This week, the Ontario Hockey League has announced their exhibition schedule for 2016/2017, which will include a total of 44 games.

The Hounds will play a total of four preseason games, including a home and home series vs the Saginaw Spirit beginning on Saturday, September 3rd at 7:00 p.m. in Saginaw, and Sunday, September 4th in the Soo at 4:07 p.m. They will then conclude preseason action with a pair of games against the Sudbury Wolves on Friday, September 9th at 7:00 p.m. in Sudbury, and back in the Soo on Sunday, September 11th at 2:07 p.m.

To date, the Hounds have a total of seven players drafted to the National Hockey League, including Blake Speers (New Jersey Devils), Zach Senyshyn (Boston Bruins), Boris Katchouk (Tampa Bay Lightening), Gustav Bouramman (Minnesota Wild), Jack Kopacka (Anaheim Ducks), Colton White (New Jersey Devils), and Tim Gettinger (New York Rangers).

Matt had graduated from Sault College in the General Arts and Sciences program in 2011 and has been working in the sports field ever since. The Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario native has worked as an Athletics Assistant in the Sault College Athletics Department during his final year of school in 2011. After graduating, Stefano worked for two years at the George Leach Centre from 2011-2013 for the Algoma University Thunderbirds Varsity Basketball Games as an Athletics Assistant. From 2013 on, Stefano has been working as the Soo Thunderbirds communications person and has also been volunteering with Shaw TV Sault Ste. Marie since 2014, doing Soo Thunderbirds TV Segments.
