More on Home Invasion arrests surfaces

On July 21st, City Police officers attended to a residence on Borden Ave. after receiving a report of a home invasion.

Investigation revealed that 2 males wearing balaclavas entered the residence around 6 am and allegedly tied up and blindfolded the homeowner. They then demanded cash, jewelry and prescription medications and then continuously assaulted and threatened the homeowner for an extended period of time.

The 2 males then allegedly locked the homeowner in another room and left the residence with multiple stolen items. The victim was eventually able to free himself and contacted the City Police. Further investigation by Detectives resulted in officers from the Criminal Investigation Division, Emergency Services Unit, Canine Unit and Patrol to attend at a residence on Carufel Ave. on the evening of July 22nd.

After approximately an hour of police presence 2 males exited the residence and were taken into custody. 50 year old Nicholas Pears, of Carufel Ave. and 26 year old Michael Turmaine of East St. have been charged with break and enter, disguise with intent, robbery, threatening, assault causing bodily harm, assault with a weapon and forcible confinement. They both appeared in WASH Court on July 23rd.

  1. Michael Turmaine almost lost his young life a year or so ago (he was stabbed). He left town to get off drugs after that, and vowed to turn his life around. GAH!

    • I am just sick over this… I have been helping mike for the past few years to get clean and stay clean.. . this crime is over the edge.. he has never done anything like this before…. praying for the person that was hurt and his family. This is so heartbreaking and so wrong…

  2. Anyone that does these things is not right in the head and should be locked up where they can’t hurt anyone else until it’s proven that they have reformed or not. No more slaps on the wrist, judges.
