Pauline’s Place is hosting the 1st annual Pallet Build Off on August 27, 2016 from 12 p.m. – 4 p.m. Register a team of up to 4 people before August 1 and show off your most creative pallet up-cycling project. Registration fees are $20/person and includes 4 pallets per team and lunch on August 27. Pallets can be picked up at Pauline’s Place, 923 Queen St E. Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners and completed projects will be auctioned off with all proceeds benefitting Pauline’s Place.
Pallets are a great source of inexpensive wood and with a bit of creativity can easily be modified to create many different types of furniture or décor. Projects of all shapes, sizes and skill level are welcome!
Projects are not limited to 4 pallets – any extra pallets, paint, hardware, decorations etc. is the responsibility of the team. Be creative, be involved & help make a difference in homelessness in our community.
All proceeds raised will go towards supporting Pauline’s Place Shelter and homelessness in our community. Established in 2004, Pauline’s Place has evolved to a 19 bed facility providing emergency shelter to youth, women and families who are experiencing homelessness. At Pauline’s Place, we strive to eliminate poverty in our community by providing food and other basic supplies. Dedicated staff use a supports based approach to assess each resident’s unique needs and liaise with other agencies as needed to provide advocacy and access to safe, affordable, sustainable housing.
