Local firefighters did some good work today averting two possible serious disasters.
A kitchen fire on 1000 block of Peoples Road was halted before more serious damage was done. One person was taken out of the home with burn injuries but the extent of them is not known yet.
Another possible kitchen fire on 300 block of Dryden was stopped as firefighters got into the home after the owner was locked out and with something left on the stove.
A pet was also locked in the home but firefighters were able to get the pet safely.
