Body of Canadian soldier found in Ontario


OWEN SOUND, Ont. – Police in Ontario say they have found a body believed to be that of a 19-year-old soldier from Nova Scotia.

Investigators say Pte. Andrew Fitzgerald was last seen at a gas station in Owen Sound on Saturday.

Police say his body was found near a water treatment facility on the Owen Sound harbour on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. following a search that involved Canadian Armed Forces, Ontario Provincial Police and Owen Sound police.

Police say a post-mortem examination will be conducted.
