Hounds announce Simon Payette new Equipment Manager


Soo Greyhounds GM Raftis continued to shape opening’s within the Hockey Operations department of the club in advance of the 2016-17 season.

This afternoon he named Simon Payette the team’s new Equipment Manager.

“We are excited to welcome Simon aboard. With his experience working in the CHL and more recently with Hockey Canada, Simon comes to us with high regard. Simon is passionate about the game and has great energy. We feel that he will be a great fit for the organization” said Raftis.

Payette is no stranger to the CHL and Major Junior Hockey having spent the two seasons in the same position with the Val D’Or Foreurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
Prior to working with the Foreurs, Simon worked with the St-Leonard Artic of the LHIQ.

The 30-year old will be responsible for all equipment, game day and player-related needs in the position previously held by Michael Boyes for the past two seasons.
Boyes advanced from the Hounds this off-season to a position with the Binghamton Senators (AHL).
