Six charged in local drug bust

On the 18th of August 2016 officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, Crime Suppression Unit and Patrol Services executed 3 Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants in the city of Sault Ste Marie.

The warrants were simultaneously executed at a residence on Allens Side Road and at two separate addresses on Goulais Avenue. As a result of this investigation a number of marihuana plants, grow equipment, a small amount of crack cocaine, marihuana and psilocybin (magic mushrooms) were seized with a total street value of $52,650.00.

The following persons were charged in relation to this investigation:

-35 year old Kenneth Frigault of Goulais Avenue was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA and two counts of Production of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA

-29 year old John Gibbs of Goulais Avenue was charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA and two counts of Production of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA

-78 year old Donald Varcoe of Allens Side Road was charged with one count of Production of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA

-55-year old Rose Varcoe of Allens Side Road was charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA and one count of Production of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA

-56 year old James Hodgkins of Prentice Avenue was charged with one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA

-54 year old Joseph Gibbs of Goulais Avenue has been charged with two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA and one count of Production of a Controlled Substance contrary to the CDSA

All charged persons will appear in court on September 19th.

    • Oh he couldn’t deny when I posted a pic right in front of his face of his child and made him look at it for 3 hours until he cried like a baby himself and made arrangements to see his child. His baby mom isn’t a prize anyways lol.

    I would have to agree with LL concentrate on the brain frying drugs.
    A little pot will hurt no one. Small amounts should have been decriminalized decades ago.

  2. I wish the crime suppression unit would concentrate on getting the meth off the streets. Who cares about weed, it’s probably going to be legal soon. It’s the meth that has become a huge problem in this town. It is destroying the kids brains. Literally. And it’s cheap, keeps them awake for days, makes them rip out their own hair at the roots, ruins their teeth and distorts their reality. You can’t walk down a back alley in the downtown core without being propositioned about 3 to 5 times by methed out maniacs “wanna by some jib” …they call meth ‘jib’ and I have no clue why, but that’s what they call it. They need to GO before they get more kids hooked!
