With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of William John (Bill) Reed at the age of 86 on September 21st at Sand Bay. His final months were spent at his beloved camp where he continued to live each day to its fullest, creating even more precious memories with his family.
Bill was the loving husband of the late Betty Lou Reed (Levine) for nearly sixty years and then later, the life partner of Ruth Ann Hollingsworth (Lakeland, Florida). He is survived by his children Wendy Mannello (Mario), Leslie O’Connell (Melbourne Australia), Lori Reed, and David Reed (Lisa Derrer). Loving Grandpa of Rick Mannello (Melbourne Australia), Jackson Reed (Toronto) and Jade Yurich (St. Catherines). Cherished brother-in-law of Elaine Stillert (late Frank) and dear uncle of Susan Tagliabracci and the late Scott Sanderson. Great-uncle of Vinnie Tagliabracci (Jenna) of Dallas Texas. Cousin of Anne Tripp (St. Augustine Florida), Maimie White (Cambridge Ontario), Arlene Greco (Nello), the late John Nesom (Brenda) and George Nesom (Judy). Bill will be remembered by his many friends in the Sault and at his winter home in Lakeland, Florida.
An exceptionally intelligent and hardworking man, he was not only successful in business, but contributed generously to the community he loved. Yet his greatest achievement of all was his family, for whom he built the strongest foundations, giving them every opportunity to thrive as individuals, yet instilling in them an unwavering belief in the importance of always being there for each other.

Friends may call at the Arthur Funeral Home & Cremation Centre on Tuesday September 27, 2016 from 5 p.m. until the funeral service in the chapel at 7 p.m.
