The Big Canoe Arrives

Around 40 people arrived at around 8:30 a.m. at Bellevue Park.

After getting slightly lost ├Čn the dense fog they arrived on shore and were greeted by close to 100 people cheering them on in praise and song.

Chief Dean Sayers of Batchewana First Nation said a welcome greeting with many smudge pots burning and sacred tobacco placed in the water for their arrival.

There was also a short meeting with officers from immigration.
