A challenge for local writers

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is a marathon writing event that challenges participants to write the first draft of a 50,000 word novel in November. There are local chapters in more than 600 regions around the world that organize in-person workshops and write-ins throughout the month.

New this year, Sault Ste. Marie has its own chapter. The three municipal liaisons (MLs) will be coordinating events around the city, starting with a write-in on November 1st.

The Centennial Library, 50 East Street, will host the NaNoWriMo Kick-Off Party and Write-in on November 1st from 5-8PM in the program room. It is a free program, and no registration is required. Simply bring your pen and paper, your laptop, your typewriter- and your imagination. Come meet with your MLs and other local writers as we begin our stories and our month of writing insanity!
