Barrett Hayton, who is currently playing for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds is our local player to watch for when the Sault hosts the under-17 challenge.
Hayton, although from Peterborough, Ontario, is the only Sault product competing in the under-17 challenge.
He currently has 5 points, including 3 goals for the Greyhounds.
Action will get underway this Thursday with exhibition games until the 30th. Then the teams will compete until November 4th.
Hayton is playing for Team Canada White.
He will be playing against Russia at the Essar Centre in pre-tournament action at 4 p.m. on the 27th.
When tournament action starts he will play against Team Canada Black at 4 p.m. at the Essar Centre on the 30th.
