Peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Sunday, October 2, 2016 at the age of 79.
Husband of Anita (nee Yule). Loving father of Scott (Nancy), Alison Reimer (Donald), Shaun (Deanna), Margery Quimby (Rob) and Stuart (Mary). Cherished grandfather of Ryan, Sarah, Kevin, Jessica, Jennifer, Rebecca, Melissa, Jonathan, Ashley, Shauna, Samantha, Liam and Daron and great grandfather of 2. Dear brother of Frances Lynch (late Matt) and the late Raymond (Elma).
James was born in Scotland, and served with the British Army – Queens Own Cameron Highlanders. He was stationed around the world, and fought in the Korean War. He emigrated to Canada in 1966, a year ahead of the rest of the family and worked as an underground surveyor, an assessment branch supervisor, a tugboat crew member on Lake Superior and as a crane operator at Algoma Steel, before retiring.
A celebration of his life will be planned for spring 2017.
