Russia drops Canada White; Finland blanks Czechs

Canada White fell 5-3 as Finland beat the Czechs 3-0 in this afternoon’s World under-17 challenge exhibition games.

Although Canada got on the board early with a shorthanded goal, Russia quickly answered with 2 goals.

Their tic-tac-toe style of play kept Team Canada White at bay.

By the end of the second they were behind 3-1 as tensions mounted.

Canada would score once to open the third but Russia would add two more goals to keep the lead.

Canada White fell 5-3 at the Essar Centre.

The win for Finland was across town at the John Rhodes Community Center.
