Bawating Water Protectors gather in Protest

The Bawating Water Protectors started gathering minutes ago to protest and unite under one cause: clean water.

As the U.S. has about 250 pipieline spills in a year, this group is concerned with not only the Dakota Access Pipeline project but also with Enbridge Line 5 under the Mackinac Straits, which is many years past its life expectancy.

“It’s our job to stand up for generations to come for clean water,” said Quinn Meawasige, who is one of the youth in the group.

The group started their protest at the Cambrian Mall and is currently heading to the Water Tower Inn.
