Crime of the Week: Break and Enters to Cottages and Outbuildings


Crime Stoppers and the Sault Ste. Marie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are looking for the public’s help in solving a rash of break and enters.

Sometime between September 28 – October 4, 2016 Sault Ste. Marie OPP investigated ten break and enters to cottages and outbuildings located in the 1000 – 1200 block of Havilland Shores Drive and one in the 1200 block of Marlette Drive in Goulais Township.

Cottages were entered by kicking in doors or breaking windows.  Once inside suspects caused damage to the interior to some of the cottages and stole several items including an Emerson 42 inch TV, a black and decker cordless drill, a mitre saw, other various tools, ammunition and alcohol.
