Czechs keep Team Canada White in Check


The Czech Team was red hot today, taking down Team Canada White 8-2.

Jakob Lauko’s hat trick for the Czech Republic sure helped them out.

Even though shots on goal were about even and the Czech Team had twice as many penalties, Team Canada White could not capitalize on them as much as they needed.

Team Canada was 2/7 on the power play while the Czech Team was 1/4.

Frantisek Rehak opened scoring for the Czechs, assisted by Daniel Kowalczyk.

Jakub Lauko added another halfway through the period.

With a two-man-advantage Akil Thomas scored for Team Canada White, assisted by Jett Woo and Jared McIaac.

In the second tempers flared after the Czech Team scored three unanswered goals by Karel Plasek, Jakub Lauko on the power play assisted by Fillip Berrnath and Matej Blumel and a goal by Adam Gajarsky assisted by Otakar Sik and Matej Blumel again.

Daniel Kowalczyk got a 10-minute misconduct for checking from behind as well as an Vojtech Kropacek getting one for unsportsmanlike conduct.

In the third Samuel Houde would score the last goal for Team Canada White on the power play assisted by Raphael Lavoie and Tristen Nielsen.

Jakub Lauk would score again for the Czechs as well as goals from Dominik Arnost both assisted by Vojtech Kropacek.
