Finding that perfect gift kept thousands busy over the weekend

Thousands were drawn to do some early Christmas shopping over the weekend at the Canadian Bushplane Heritage Centre for the 4th annual Holiday Gift and Craft Show.

The two day event is pretty much the kick off to the busy holiday shopping season  in Sault Ste. Marie offering truly unique gifts and one-of-a-kind items from hundreds of local vendors and artisans.

The door prize winner for Saturday valued at $1155.00 was Marg Simpson and Sunday’s Staycastion prize valued at $2500.00 was Debbie Strom.

“We had just over 3500 come for the 2 days. Men, women and children from
babies to teenagers enjoyed seeing the variety of crafts, artwork and home
distributors as well as our planes.” said Collins-Suriano.

Warm sunny weather may have kept attendance numbers down a little bit from last year but some vendors saw brisk sales. “Five or six of the vendors totally sold out of their products which was awesome for them.” Collins-Suriano said, “It was great to see so many visitors from the Sault, Elliott lake, Sudbury and Michigan just to name a few. We appreciate their generous support”

the success they had from the show this year.”
