Today, the City of Sault Ste. Marie announced the launch of Winter Preparedness Week 2016, taking place November 14 – 18 at various locations in Sault Ste. Marie.
Winter Preparedness Week raises awareness on the importance of being ready for unexpected emergencies. The winter brings seasonal challenges to our community, and while many see the importance of being prepared, most people have yet to take the necessary steps to stay safe.
Throughout the week, City of Sault Ste. Marie Emergency Management, the Canadian Red Cross, and Sault Search & Rescue will be at various sites to educate the public about potential local hazards & protective actions.
The Vulnerable Persons Registry (VPR) Coordinator will also be available to distribute registration kits and register individuals interested in the VPR. For more info, call 705.942.6938 ext. 3041 or visit et .
