Week One of boys basketball is in the books. Korah hosted Superior Heights Thursday evening. In the junior contest the Colts started the season 1-0 with a 71-51 win over the Steelhawks. Tyler Brechin led the way for the Colts attack with 21 points, while Kyle Dudenski led Superior Heights with 12. In senior action the reigning city champion Korah Colts chalked one up in the win column with a 73-50 win over the Steelhawks. Jadon Fogg led the Colts attack with 14 while Jackson Coneybeare led all scorers in the contest with 17.
The St. Mary’s Knights would play host to the White Pines Wolverines. In the junior contest the Knights came away with a 46-42 victory over the Wolverines. St. Mary’s were led by Carter Bonin and David Campbell who each scored 12 points. Joe Catches led the way for White Pines pouring in 25 points. The senior contest was a barnburner with White Pines escaping with a 57-55 win. The Wolverines were led by Isaiah Graber who had 17 and Alex Foster who added 14. Cole Evans had the hot hand for St. Mary’s, leading them with 16 points.
Action continues next week as the St. Mary’s Knights travel to Korah to take on the Colts on Tuesday November 29th and on Thursday December 1st the Colts travel to White Pines to take on the Wolverines.
The Junior contests tip off at 6:00 pm, while the senior contest tips off at 7:30 pm.
