Man with crossbow arrested in east end

On November 02, 2016 at 6:00 P.M. City Police received a call regarding a male in the area of Queen St. East and Dacey rd. carrying what appeared to be a cross bow.

Police attended and located the male with the cross bow. The investigation revealed that the 29 year old male from Sault Ste Marie was on three different court ordered weapon prohibitions.

As a result he was arrested and is being charged with 3 counts of Possession of a weapon while prohibited from doing so and on count of breach of probation. He will be appearing in Bail Court on November 3, 2016 at 10:00 A.M.

  1. We need a new police chief with Sault Ste. Marie roots, the present one is getting too comfortable and not living up to the job. He is not from here and knows little about the Sault.
When citizens have a concern and want to talk to him he is always “too busy” for them.

  2. No name? Why are the police cherry picking what names to release? They will release the name of someone who stole some chicken from a grocery store but not a guy walking around with a crossbow when prohibited from having weapons?? i think it is in the public’s interest to know who! Horrible optics from our police. Just horrible.
